Felix Auger-Aliassime upset Alcaraz in the Davis Cup in Valencia today, winning 6-7(3) 6-4 6-2 after dropping the first set.

The turning point of the match came in the second set when Auger-Aliassime broke Alcaraz’s serve to take a 5-4 lead. The Canadian broke Alcaraz’s serve twice in the third set, the first time he made it 1-0 and the second he made it 4-1.

A win in this match brought the Davis Cup draw between Canada and Spain to 1-1 before Auger-Aliassime and Vasek Pospisil secured a best-of-three win for Canada in doubles.
Canada currently leads Group B in the Davis Cup with a 2-0 record.

The win was a great comeback for Auger-Aliassime, who dropped five places in the ATP World Rankings after an upset in the second round of the US Open. The Montreal native is currently his 13th-ranked Canadian player in the world on the Men’s Tour.
