Carrie Price turned to social media to seek help for a sick baby she met at the Montreal Children’s Hospital on Wednesday.
The legendary Montreal Canadiens goalie posted a photo of him and wife Angela with an Argentinian family in need of help.
“I don’t ask this often or unnecessarily,” Price said. “I met with Augusto [at Montreal Children’s Hospital]Family desperate to return to Argentina [resume] medical care. Thank you for thinking of a way to help. “
A video posted on Instagram stories Angela Price provides further explanation.
“Yesterday, Carrie and I went to a children’s hospital here in Montreal and I wanted to tell you about a family we met,” she said.
“They are from Argentina, husband, wife and 19 month old baby. Cute baby. They were here for a competition. He has been admitted to the hospital and they are still not sure what is wrong with the baby.It is really sad.”
Angela said baby Augusto looked healthy before he left Argentina.
“They are stranded in hospitals and are racking up costs here in Canada because their insurance does not cover their medical bills here. I have to take a special plane with a doctor to take me there, and I can’t do that.
The family started a GoFundMe pageset a goal of $100,000.
“Anything can help. Please send this sweet baby Augusto and his family home. I can only hope that the doctors can figure out what’s going on and help this sweet baby.”
