Food hall that was once one of the trendiest places in Toronto has permanently closed | Dished

Super Fresh announced that it is permanently closed. The Asian Food Hall opened in the annex last May and was a huge success, but it didn’t seem to live up to its potential.

The venue operations team shared the news in an Instagram post on Saturday, thanking customers for their patronage and encouraging them to continue supporting businesses located within the 4,000-square-foot complex.

The comments below their farewell post are filled with well wishes and condolences alike.

During its one-year run, SuperFresh offers Big Beef Bowl, Jajang, Cutlet breadSam Cha, Good Goods, aunty supplies And co-founder Trevor Lui himself Baobird.

In addition to featuring several Asian food vendors, the venue also offered in-house drinks courtesy of Bar Superfresh.

Fortunately, this won’t be the last time I’ve had a chicken cutlet sandwich or gua bao, as some of the restaurants that used to be in the food hall have set up locations elsewhere in Toronto.

Superfresh didn’t say what would happen in the space they occupy, or why it was closed, but did provide a look back at the concept.

“Superfresh is founded on expanding Asian-owned small businesses in downtown Toronto and creating spaces for their communities,” they said in a statement on Instagram.

“We hope the story and foundation of Superfresh will live on in our beloved community.”
